We took a clients’ back hall space off their garage that was cramped and unusable and designed a unique mudroom area for them.
A contemporary farmhouse is the look we were after which led us to focus on clean lines and colors with complementary rustic features.
Beautiful porcelain tile with a weathered barn look set off the floors. Old beams salvaged from a turn-of-the century barn in Fenton Michigan were our choice for a custom mudroom bench top. Thanks to Scott over at Rochester Salvage & Supply who has a great inventory of reclaimed materials.
In the next stage, we created storage by adding a built-in unit shelving unit to the end of the bench area. Finally, we finished the country farmhouse design with bright white board & batten and wainscot trim. Dark grey paint on the upper third of the wall completed the project.
The look and the practicality of their one-of-a-kind mudroom area delighted our clients.
